The Bucharest Architecture Annual 2017 militates for a responsible architecture, an architecture of public utility that is sensitive to the idea of context, place and community. Building responsibly extends to living responsibly in a city, in an urban space that belongs to both the individual and communities. In this context, AAB2017 launched two public space manifests: accessibility of the entire AAB2017 exhibition and “Bicycle Architecture” tours, through which the objectives outlined in the Annual was to be visited by the general public through guided bike routes. The accessibility of the exhibition consisted of the Braille translation of all selected AAB2017 projects. All annual panels, oriented towards the public space, had an attached display that converted the text of the project written by each participant architect AAB2017. The action is a premiere in the culture of Romanian architectural events, marking respect for a contemporary, community and European way of life.
